Evergreen Gives Back for Giving Tuesday and Beyond

One of our company culture pillars is community involvement, and that involves giving back in various ways. On any given day, you might find us participating in 5Ks, sponsoring and playing in charity golf tournaments, contributing to endowments, or even volunteering our time. Even in the midst of one of the strangest years to date, we’ve made community involvement a priority. After all, where would we be without our community? Below, just in time for Giving Tuesday, we’re sharing a few of the organizations that are near and dear to our heart and how you can get involved, too!

Autism Speaks

What it is: Autism Speaks advocates for and supports people with autism, increases understanding and acceptance of autism, and works to advance research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.

How we participate: We participate in and sponsor the event, Play a Round for Autism. The funds raised goes to the organization for grants to programs serving families with children with autism.

How you can participate: Take a look at the Autism Speaks website to learn more about how you can participate, https://www.autismspeaks.org/get-involved

Gathering Industries

What it is: Gathering Industries is a local non-profit that employs and teaches formerly homeless individuals about the culinary industry through a boxed lunch program. They provide high-end boxed lunches to businesses around Atlanta including the likes of Delta Airlines, Coca-Cola, and The Blank Family Foundation.

How we participate: We donated to Gathering Industries, so they can keep their kitchens running, their mission thriving, and our healthcare community fed.

How you can participate: To learn more about Gathering Industries, Inc. or to donate to their mission, visit their website at https://gatheringindustries.org.

Georgia Works!

What it is: Georgia Works! is a local organization that seeks to help chronically homeless men while breaking the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and recidivism. Since 2014, we’ve had an ongoing relationship with Georgia Works! and are proud to have hired many men as a result of our time together.

How we participate: Our Vice President, Bill McCorkle serves as a board member for the organization.

How you can participate: There are many ways to get involved including becoming a community partner. Your company can even work with the organization to hire their men. Learn more on their website https://www.georgiaworks.net

Global Ministries

What it is: An organization that does ministry work throughout the world.

How we participate: We donate gift cards for them to give to their employees during the holidays.

How you can participate: Global Ministries accepts donations via their website, and also includes other ways to volunteer or get involved.

University Donors

What it is: Donations to our alma maters and other university campuses

How we participate: It’s important that we foster a love for construction and STEAM education at the university level, so we can help encourage students to choose a career in our industry. Whether through donations, speaking opportunities or fundraising events, we work with universities such as The University of Florida and Auburn University yearly.

How you can participate: We encourage everyone to get involved with their alma mater whether through giving monetary donations or your time.
